Question: How do we become members; how can we pay; and where do we mail the cheque to?
Answer: Memberships are available at BAS meetings or by mail (cheque or cash). Cheques should be made out to Bluewater Astronomical Society. For information on mailing instructions, send us an email via the Contact us page including Membership in the subject. For any membership purchased via mail, be sure to include your name, mailing address, email and phone number.
Question: When is the next observing session at the Fox?
Answer: Information for impromptu viewings at the Fox (if any) should be found on the home page within approximately 24 hours of the viewing taking place. Otherwise, check our coming events page to check for the next date when a viewing will take place.
Question: What are the rules regarding use of the Fox observatory? What days of the week is it available? Is it staffed all the time? Can we use it on our own?
Answer: The rules governing observatory use can be found here. We are not open during weekdays or evenings during the school year, and the observatory will not be staffed. Observing events at the observatory are open to the public on public nights only. The observatory may only be used with BAS members present.
Question: How do I get to the club meetings and the observatory?
Answer: Club meetings occur at either Bailey Hall in Owen Sound District Secondary School or at the ES Fox observatory. Directions/maps to these locations can be found here.
